Start Your Day The Vibetality Way

The first meal of the day, is truly the most important. What you eat upon waking will have an effect on the rest of your days food consumption, blood sugar levels, energy levels, and much more. At Vibetality, one thing we like to start our day with, is a special tea. Our favorite is a chai, grass fed butter and coconut oil combination. Yes that is right we add butter AND coconut oil and it good for us too!

The old (and wrong) thought patterns used to consider fats like coconut oil to be unhealthy,  and contribute to heart disease. We now know that this isn’t true at all.  In fact, coconut oil is actually a heart-healthy food that can keep your body running smoother in a few different ways.

Our Recipe
1 Cup Chai tea
1 table spoon coconut oil
1 tablespoon grass fed butter
Blend and enjoy.

If you want to know more about the great benefits please read on.

The health benefits of coconut oil ~
Studies have shown that taking coconut oil can help our bodies to fight both viruses and bacteria and fungus that can cause illness.

Coconut oil can also have a positive affect on our hormones that regulate the thyroid and blood-sugar control. People who take coconut oil often tend to have improvements in how they handle blood sugar because coconut can help improve insulin use. Coconut oil has the power to boost thyroid function, which helps to increase metabolism, energy and endurance. It also increases digestion and helps to absorb fat-soluble vitamins, many of which are vital for proper brain function.

Coconut Oil Can Reduce cholesterol ~
That is right REDUCE! Coconut oil has a saturated fat called lauric acid, a type of medium chain triglycerides, MTC's are a type of dietary fat which can offer a range of health benefits.  It has been shown that lauric acid increases the good HDL cholesterol in the blood which helps improve cholesterol ratio levels. Coconut oil lowers cholesterol by promoting its conversion to pregnenolone, a molecule that is a precursor to many of the anti-aging hormones in our body.

How does coconut help keep weight balanced~
Coconut's medium chain triglycerides (MCTs) have been shown to increase efficient burning of energy in the body. One 2009 study found that women who consumed 30 milliliters (about 2 tablespoons) of coconut oil daily for 12 weeks not only did not gain more weight, but actually had lowered amounts of abdominal fat.

Grass Fed Butter Can Help You Lose Weight Too~
Grass fed butter has 3-5X higher levels of conjuggated linoleic acid (CLA) than grain fed butter. CLA . CLA has been associated with increased heart health, reduction in tumor growth, decreased belly fat, and fat loss in overweight individuals. The immune system also gets a boost from CLA, and muscle building is helped as well.

Vitamin levels are also higher in grass fed butter~
Vegetation in pastures is more diverse and has more vitamins than the corn that grain fed cows eat. The main vitamins which are more present in grass fed butter are vitamin A and vitamin K2, which are both essential to keep the body healthy and feeling great.

Balance Your Omegas with Grass Fed Butter~

Grass fed butter contains the perfect omega 3 to omega 6 ratio of one. Grain fed butter has a ratio that is tilted heavily towards the omega 6 fatty acids. As a society we typically eat far to many grains in our diet, feeding cows grain just exacerbates our society’s problem by further distorting our omega 3 to omega 6 ratio.

Grass Fed Butter Helps You Think Better ~
Another reason grass fed butter is an important is the high arichidonic acid levels. Arachidonic acid is one of the most abundant fatty acids in the brain, and is present in similar quantities to docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). The two account for approximately 20% of the brain's fatty acid content. Like DHA, neurological health is reliant upon sufficient levels of arachidonic acid.

Try out this special tea and let us know about the physical and mental boost you'll feel rest of the day.
